What conditions do physiotherapists treat?

Physiotherapists can help you recover from a range of injuries including sporting injuries, work-related injuries, arthritis and other chronic conditions, post-operative injuries, repetitive strain injuries and headaches.

A physiotherapist can also help you prevent further injury by listening to your needs and working with you to plan the most appropriate management for your condition, including setting goals and treatment outcomes, as well as developing and monitoring a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

Do I need a referral?

As first call practitioners, a doctor’s referral is not necessary to see a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists, doctors and other health professionals will often work as part of a team to plan and manage treatment for a specific condition. If you do have a referral letter please bring it with you and we will be happy to consult with your doctor.

A doctor’s referral will be required in the case that you are claiming your treatment through a third party, for example, WorkCover, Veteran’s affairs, or Medicare.

How do I pay? What rebates are available?

Payment is required at the completion of your treatment session. You will be able to claim rebates from your Health Fund immediately at the time of payment via our HICAPS facility. You will need to bring your health fund card with you.

It is important to note that rebates can vary between health funds and also based on your level of cover. You are best advised to check your level of cover with your health fund prior to your first consultation. For any gap payments EFTPOS and credit facilities are available.

Rebates are now also available through Medicare for up to 5 physio sessions per year. This is available for patients with chronic conditions and must have a specific referral from a GP as part of an Enhanced Primary Care Program (EPC). Please contact us or your GP if you require more information about this program.

How long is an appointment?

It is important to know that treatments are not time based. We will take the full amount of time required to help address your specific problem.

Initial consultations usually take approximately 45min, with subsequent consultations lasting 30min, however you may be at the clinic for some time longer if undertaking gym based rehabilitation or other adjunctive treatments.

If you have a complex case or require more than 1 area to be treated please inform the practitioner at the time of your booking so that the appropriate time can be allocated.

As a new client we would appreciate if you could arrive 10 minutes prior to your first appointment to allow time to fill out relevant paperwork.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require that you give as much notice as possible for cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment you must provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a fee.

If you miss an appointment without notice the full fee will apply.

Missed appointment: $90

Late notice change of appointment: $35

Help us NEVER charge a missed appointment fee!

What should I wear to an appointment?

Loose, comfortable clothing that will not restrict your movement and allow the physiotherapist to see the injured area are preferred. Where required, we can provide some clean shorts or disposable gowns to help us expose the injured site. Your physio will likely show you some exercises to assist in your recovery so appropriate clothing is again recommended (sports ware/gym ware).

We always ensure that we are mindful of patient modesty throughout all treatment sessions.

What parking is available?
Parking is free for up to 70 mins which is more than enough time for your physiotherapy consult. Anything longer than this will incur a charge. Parking can be free for up to 2hrs with a $30 spend at Dan Murphy’s or Woolworths, so you can tie in your weekly shopping with your physiotherapy appointment.
