Dougal Hicks is a physiotherapist from Bond University with a passion for sports injuries. He is currently the Head Physiotherapist at Sydney University Rugby Club in the Shute Shield competition and has previously worked with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in their pathways system.
During his studies at Bond University, Dougal worked as a physiotherapy assistant with the Bond University Bull Sharks rugby union team in the Queensland Hospital Cup competition. A highlight of his studies was completing a 10-week physiotherapy internship with the Chiefs Super Rugby franchise in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Prior to his postgraduate studies, Dougal completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney, where he interned with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and played rugby for Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union. Previous roles have also included working as a strength and conditioning coach at The King’s School in North Parramatta and Shore School in North Sydney prior to relocating to the Gold Coast.
Outside of physiotherapy, Dougal enjoys watching both rugby union and the NRL, as well as playing golf and tennis. He also enjoys returning home to Wagga Wagga to spend time with family and friends.
